Gear Gator Removal & Installation Guide

This guide explains how to remove your existing gear gator and install your new replacement gator.

Removal

1. Carefully remove the numbered cap from the top of the gear knob.
2. Using a suitable TORX bit, undo the fixing screw and remove the gear knob.
3. Firmly pull upwards on the leather gator to release the lower plastic retaining clip from the console.
4. Turn the gator inside out and remove the plastic retaining ring that secures the leather to the gear knob.

Installation

5. Take the new gator and refit by following the above steps in reverse order.
6. To fit the new plastic base, place the fixing ring inside the opening of the gator. Insert one screw through the top ring to align the fixing holes.
7. Insert a second screw to hold everything in position, then fit the remaining screws and fully tighten once all screws are correctly aligned.
