Gear Gator Removal & Installation Guide
This guide explains how to remove your existing gear gator and install your new replacement gator.
Removal
- Carefully remove the numbered cap from the top of the gear knob.
- Using a suitable TORX bit, undo the fixing screw and remove the gear knob.
- Firmly pull upwards on the leather gator to release the lower plastic retaining clip from the console.
- Turn the gator inside out and remove the plastic retaining ring that secures the leather to the gear knob.
Installation
- Take the new gator and refit by following the above steps in reverse order.
- To fit the new plastic base, place the fixing ring inside the opening of the gator. Insert one screw through the top ring to align the fixing holes.
- Insert a second screw to hold everything in position, then fit the remaining screws and fully tighten once all screws are correctly aligned.
